This Seems Excessive...

Barack Obama has bought 30 minutes of air time on CBS on October 29th. During primetime, even!! What kind of bread is this man working with?

To me, it just seems like overkill. At this point, the only ones who are still undecided aren't really undecided. And what is the point of having it? When Ross Perot did it, he needed to get his points out there because as a third party candidate (and crazy person) people may not have been really listening to him.

Barack, you've got everyone's ear already! Keep doing your (comparatively) non-cretin-filled rallies! I don't think giving a dry, micro-managed stump speech in prime time is going to make any difference. And of course that's what it would be, just rehashing the same stuff that's available on YouTube strung together to fill up 30 minutes.

I could maybe understand if he reserved the air time in case he needs it, like if a rip in the space/time continuum caused Bizarro World John McCain to get swapped out for our John McCain and he suddenly surged ahead in the polls. But as it is, this seems like a backfire waiting to happen.

Here's a thought. Use it to have a round table with ALL the candidates, including Bob Barr and Ralph Nader's Ego. Chris Wallace could moderate to curb any cries of bias. That I could get behind.
